The Vice President of Data Science will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for defining and scaling the enterprise-wide data science strategy. This role requires a unique blend of technical mastery, business acumen, and organizational leadership capable of translating complex data into strategic advantage.
You will lead global teams, influence board-level decisions, and shape the future of AI-driven enterprise intelligence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Define and execute the organization’s global data science strategy aligned with long-term business objectives and growth priorities

Lead and scale high-performing data science teams across geographies, including machine learning, applied AI, and advanced analytics functions

Architect and oversee the development of predictive models, optimization algorithms, and AI-driven decision systems

Partner with executive leadership to embed data-driven decision-making across product, operations, finance, and customer experience

Drive innovation in machine learning, including deep learning, NLP, reinforcement learning, and generative AI applications

Oversee the full lifecycle of model development, deployment, monitoring, and governance

Collaborate with data engineering and platform teams to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performance data infrastructure

Establish best practices in model validation, explainability, fairness, and regulatory compliance

Translate complex analytical insights into actionable strategies for executive stakeholders and board members

Lead cross-functional initiatives that integrate data science into core business processes and revenue-generating activities

Build partnerships with external research institutions, technology partners, and industry experts

Oversee data science budget, resource allocation, and ROI measurement across initiatives
Job Qualifications and Requirements

PhD or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field

15+ years of progressive experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics, with at least 7+ years in leadership roles

Proven track record of building and scaling enterprise data science organizations

Deep expertise in machine learning frameworks, statistical modeling, and large-scale data systems

Experience working within AI-driven, cloud-native, or enterprise SaaS environments

Strong understanding of data architecture, distributed systems, and modern data platforms (e.g., Spark, Databricks, Snowflake)

Demonstrated ability to drive business impact through data science initiatives (revenue growth, cost optimization, risk reduction)

Experience with MLOps, model governance, and AI lifecycle management

Familiarity with regulatory frameworks related to data privacy, AI ethics, and compliance (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2, industry-specific regulations)

Contribute to M&A evaluations, including technical due diligence and integration of data capabilities

Drive thought leadership in AI and data science through industry engagement, publications, and executive forums

Support board-level reporting on data strategy, innovation, and performance metrics

Compensation Package: $368,000 – $480,000 (base salary aligned with executive scope and organizational impact)
