IT Asset Management (ITAM) plays a core role in ensuring compliance, cost efficiency, system security, and operational clarity. From software license optimisation to hardware lifecycle planning, the function is central to reducing risk, enabling budget predictability, and supporting technology strategy.
As the Senior IT Asset Manager, you will lead the enterprise-wide ITAM function, develop asset governance frameworks, manage vendor and licensing portfolios, and provide visibility and control over all IT assets across the organisation. This role requires deep operational expertise, analytical rigor, and cross-functional leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead the full lifecycle management of hardware and software assets, including acquisition, tracking, usage monitoring, renewal, and retirement.

Develop enterprise ITAM frameworks, governance structures, policies, and standards to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Manage software licensing, vendor contracts, compliance reviews, and usage optimisation across all technology platforms.

Oversee asset data quality, CMDB alignment, inventory accuracy, and reporting integrity.

Evaluate asset utilisation data to identify consolidation opportunities, cost reduction strategies, and risk mitigation plans.

Partner with Security, Procurement, Finance, Engineering, and Operations to ensure asset processes support organisational needs.

Lead periodic audits, risk assessments, and monitoring processes for compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations.

Support automation initiatives, tooling upgrades, and system integrations that improve ITAM efficiency.

Provide executive reporting on asset health, spend trends, compliance exposure, and operational performance.

Guide team members, vendors, and internal partners on best practices for asset lifecycle management.
Job Qualifications and Requirements

8+ years of experience in IT Asset Management, IT Operations, Procurement, or Software Licensing roles.

Strong understanding of ITIL, ITAM frameworks, hardware lifecycle management, and software licensing compliance.

Experience in enterprise environments with large-scale asset inventories or distributed technology systems.

Familiarity with asset management tools, CMDB systems, SAM platforms, and data reconciliation processes.

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or related field; relevant certifications (ITAM, ITIL, SAM) preferred.

Strong analytical, organisational, and reporting capabilities.

Demonstrated ability to partner with cross-functional teams, including Security, Procurement, Engineering, and Finance.

Working Conditions

Remote role within the United States with occasional travel for audits, planning sessions, or vendor meetings.
