Job Description

About the Role

The Managing Director role represents one of the highest-impact leadership positions within the enterprise, responsible for translating corporate ambition into sustained business performance at scale. We are seeking a Managing Director to lead a major business unit, region, or portfolio within a global, technology-driven organization operating across complex markets and customer segments.

This role is designed for an executive who can own outcomes end-to-end from strategy and growth to execution, profitability, and talent leadership. The Managing Director will have full accountability for revenue growth, margin performance, operational execution, and long-term value creation. Beyond operational leadership, this role shapes the strategic direction of the business, aligning market opportunities, investment priorities, and organizational capability with enterprise objectives.

Working closely with the CEO, executive leadership team, and board stakeholders, the Managing Director will guide the business through periods of growth, transformation, and competitive change. This leader must balance long-range vision with near-term execution discipline, building scalable operating models while maintaining commercial agility.

This is not a stewardship role. It is a mandate to build, transform, and scale a critical segment of the enterprise delivering measurable impact on growth, profitability, customer value, and leadership strength.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own full P&L responsibility for a major business unit, region, or strategic portfolio.

  • Define and execute a multi-year business strategy aligned with corporate growth and transformation goals.

  • Lead operational execution across delivery, cost structure, productivity, and performance management.

  • Build, lead, and mentor senior leadership teams with clear accountability and succession planning.

  • Establish performance metrics, operating cadence, and executive governance across the business.

  • Strengthen strategic client, partner, and stakeholder relationships at executive and board levels.

  • Oversee capital allocation, investment decisions, and resource prioritization.

  • Identify and lead transformation initiatives across operating models, technology enablement, and organizational design.

  • Represent the business internally and externally as a senior enterprise leader.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in large-scale enterprises or highly complex organizations.

  • Proven success in executive roles with direct P&L ownership and accountability for growth and profitability.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-region, cross-functional teams at scale.

  • Strong strategic planning and execution background, including transformation or turnaround experience.

  • Deep financial acumen across forecasting, budgeting, and investment decision-making.

  • Track record of building trusted relationships with executive stakeholders and boards.

  • Experience operating in fast-paced, competitive, and evolving market environments.

Personal Capabilities and Qualifications

  • Enterprise-level strategic thinker with strong execution discipline.

  • Confident executive presence with the ability to influence at the highest levels.

  • Decisive, resilient leader comfortable with ambiguity and complex decision-making.

  • Strong people leader who attracts, develops, and retains senior talent.

  • Commercially minded, data-driven, and outcome-focused.

  • Exceptional communicator capable of aligning diverse stakeholders.

Strategic Support

  • Serve as a core member of the enterprise executive leadership team.

  • Partner closely with the CEO, CFO, and Board on strategy, performance, and long-term value creation.

  • Support corporate transformation initiatives, portfolio strategy, and growth investments.

  • Provide leadership during periods of expansion, restructuring, or market disruption.

  • Contribute to enterprise governance, risk management, and long-range planning cycles.

Working Conditions
