About the Role
At enterprise scale, technical operations is the foundation that enables innovation, growth, and trust. We are seeking a Head of Technical Operations to lead the reliability, scalability, and performance of mission-critical technology platforms supporting a global, technology-driven organization.
This role is designed for a senior leader who understands how to translate engineering excellence into operational resilience. You will own the full technical operations ecosystem, including infrastructure, cloud platforms, site reliability, service management, release operations, incident response, and operational governance,e ensuring systems operate with high availability, security, and performance at scale.
The Head of Technical Operations will partner closely with Engineering, Product, Security, and Executive Leadership to modernize the operating model using automation, observability, and AI-assisted operations. You will lead the shift from reactive support to proactive, predictive operations, embedding reliability engineering, capacity planning, and continuous improvement into how technology is delivered and sustained.
This is not an infrastructure caretaker role. It is a mandate to build technical operations as a strategic enterprise capability, one that enables rapid innovation while maintaining rigorous standards for uptime, security, and cost efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead global technical operations across cloud infrastructure, platforms, SRE, production support, and service management.

Own availability, performance, scalability, and reliability of all enterprise production systems.

Define and execute a multi-year technical operations strategy aligned with enterprise growth and transformation goals.

Drive modernization through automation, observability, AIOps, and self-healing systems.

Establish and enforce SLAs, SLOs, incident management, change control, and disaster recovery standards.

Partner with Engineering and Product to ensure operability, reliability, and scalability are built into systems by design.

Oversee capacity planning, cost optimization, and infrastructure investment decisions.

Lead major incident response and executive communications during critical events.

Manage vendor strategy, managed service providers, and technology partners.

Build, mentor, and scale high-performing global technical operations teams.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
-
15+ years of experience in technical operations, infrastructure, SRE, or platform operations leadership.

Proven success leading large-scale, cloud-native, or hybrid production environments.

Strong expertise in reliability engineering, incident management, and operational governance.

Experience modernizing operations through automation, monitoring, and AI-assisted tooling.

Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and distributed systems.

Strong financial acumen, including cost optimization, capacity planning, and vendor management.

Ability to influence executive stakeholders and align cross-functional teams.
