As Director of Financial Controls, you will play a critical role in shaping enterprise-wide financial governance, ensuring the highest standards of compliance, risk management, and operational efficiency, while directly engaging with the CFO, Audit Committee, and Board of Directors.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Governance & Oversight: Lead enterprise-wide financial controls, ensuring compliance with SOX, GAAP, IFRS, and global regulatory frameworks.

  • Risk Management: Design and implement systems to mitigate financial risks, fraud, and operational inefficiencies.

  • Internal Controls: Establish and monitor control frameworks across financial reporting, treasury, and operational finance.

  • Audit Leadership: Partner with internal and external auditors to ensure transparency, accuracy, and timely reporting.

  • Technology Integration: Drive adoption of ERP systems, automation tools, and AI-powered compliance monitoring.

  • Policy Development: Develop and enforce accounting policies, control procedures, and risk governance guidelines.

  • Executive Communication: Deliver financial control reports, risk assessments, and compliance updates to the CFO, Audit Committee, and Board.

  • Global Team Leadership: Manage cross-functional teams, ensuring consistency, accountability, and strong performance across regions.


Qualifications, Special Knowledge, Education, and Abilities

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, auditing, or financial governance, with at least 7+ years in executive or senior leadership roles.

  • Proven success in financial services, global corporations, or Fortune 500 organizations.

  • Deep expertise in SOX compliance, internal control frameworks, and financial reporting standards.

  • CPA, CIA, CISA, or MBA strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and compliance technologies.

  • Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills with Board-level presence.

  • Demonstrated success leading large, multi-region finance or compliance teams.


Strategic Support

The Director of Financial Controls acts as a strategic advisor to the CFO, Audit Committee, and Board of Directors, ensuring financial governance strengthens resilience and corporate growth. Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on capital allocation, risk mitigation, and financial policy decisions.

  • Supporting M&A integration by embedding robust control frameworks into acquired entities.

  • Partnering with Technology and Operations to drive automation and compliance digitization.

  • Ensuring ESG and sustainability reporting meet evolving regulatory standards.


Working Conditions

  • Remote role with periodic travel to headquarters, audit sessions, and leadership summits.
