Job Description

About the Role

The Chief Operations Strategy Officer is a critical executive role that sits at the intersection of enterprise strategy, operational execution, and large-scale transformation. This position exists to ensure that corporate strategy is not merely defined, but systematically operationalized across a complex, global organization.

As COSO, you will partner directly with the CEO, COO, CFO, and Board of Directors to translate multi-year growth strategies into executable operating models, performance systems, and transformation roadmaps. You will lead enterprise-wide strategic initiatives that span technology modernization, organizational design, cost optimization, geographic expansion, and scalable operating efficiency.

This is not a traditional operations role. It is a strategy-first executive position for leaders who excel at aligning vision with execution, data with decision-making, and ambition with disciplined delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own enterprise operational strategy aligned with long-term corporate growth objectives.

  • Translate board-level strategy into executable operating plans across business units and regions.

  • Lead large-scale transformation initiatives, including digital modernization, AI adoption, and process re-engineering.

  • Design and optimize enterprise operating models, governance structures, and performance frameworks.

  • Partner with Finance to drive capital efficiency, margin expansion, and cost-to-serve optimization.

  • Oversee strategic portfolio management for cross-functional initiatives and transformation programs.

  • Establish enterprise KPIs, OKRs, and performance dashboards to drive accountability and results.

  • Serve as executive sponsor for mission-critical initiatives with high financial and organizational impact.

  • Identify operational risks, bottlenecks, and scalability challenges before they impact growth.

  • Communicate progress, outcomes, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and the Board.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience across Operations, Strategy, Consulting, or Transformation roles.

  • Demonstrated success operating at the C-suite or enterprise executive level.

  • Background in technology platforms, enterprise services, digital infrastructure, or complex global organizations.

  • Proven experience leading multi-billion-dollar operational or transformation initiatives.

  • Deep understanding of operating models, enterprise governance, and performance management systems.

  • Experience working directly with Boards, CEOs, and executive leadership teams.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.

Personal Capabilities and Qualifications

  • Strategic thinker with exceptional execution discipline.

  • Highly analytical with strong business judgment and financial acumen.

  • Executive-level communicator with credibility across technical, financial, and operational teams.

  • Ability to influence without direct authority across complex organizational structures.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, scale, and organizational change.

  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to align teams around shared objectives.

  • Systems-oriented mindset with attention to both detail and enterprise impact.

Strategic Support

  • Act as a principal strategic partner to the CEO and COO on enterprise execution.

  • Support board-level planning, long-range forecasting, and operational strategy reviews.

  • Partner with the CFO and Finance teams on performance management, capital deployment, and efficiency initiatives.

  • Collaborate with Technology leadership on digital transformation and AI-driven operating improvements.

  • Provide executive insight into operational readiness for growth, acquisitions, and market expansion.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid or remote executive role with periodic travel for leadership summits and board meetings.

  • High-visibility position with enterprise-wide influence and accountability.

  • Fast-paced, results-driven environment focused on measurable outcomes.

  • Requires flexibility to operate across global time zones and diverse leadership teams.

Job Function

  • Lead enterprise operational strategy and execution alignment.

  • Drive transformation, scalability, and performance excellence across the organization.

  • Ensure strategic initiatives deliver measurable financial and operational impact.
