Job Description

About the Role

Automation at enterprise scale is no longer about isolated scripts or task-level efficiencies; it is about building intelligent systems that redefine how organizations operate. We are seeking an Automation Engineer to design, implement, and scale automation solutions that power mission-critical operations across a global, technology-driven enterprise.

This role is designed for an engineer who understands how to translate complexity into scalable automation. You will work across infrastructure, applications, data pipelines, and business workflows to eliminate friction, reduce operational risk, and enable faster, more reliable execution. Your work will directly support initiatives such as AI-driven decisioning, cloud modernization, DevOps acceleration, and enterprise productivity transformation.

Partnering with Engineering, IT Operations, Security, Data, and Product teams, you will own automation from design through production, ensuring solutions are resilient, observable, secure, and built for long-term scale. This includes leveraging modern automation frameworks, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and intelligent orchestration platforms.

This is not a scripting role and not a support role. It is a mandate to build automation as a foundational enterprise capability, one that improves reliability, accelerates innovation, and frees teams to focus on higher-value work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade automation solutions across systems, infrastructure, and workflows.

  • Develop automation frameworks using infrastructure-as-code, orchestration tools, and workflow engines.

  • Partner with Engineering and IT teams to automate deployment, configuration, monitoring, and recovery processes.

  • Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines to improve speed, quality, and reliability of delivery.

  • Implement intelligent automation leveraging AI/ML, rule engines, and event-driven architectures where appropriate.

  • Identify automation opportunities through process analysis, system bottlenecks, and operational pain points.

  • Ensure automation solutions meet enterprise standards for security, compliance, and observability.

  • Build monitoring, logging, and alerting into automated systems to ensure reliability and transparency.

  • Document architectures, standards, and best practices to enable reuse and scalability.

  • Mentor other engineers and influence automation standards across the organization.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of experience in automation engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or systems engineering roles.

  • Strong experience with automation tools, scripting, and orchestration platforms.

  • Proficiency in languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern infrastructure architectures.

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and infrastructure-as-code.

  • Strong understanding of system reliability, scalability, and performance engineering.

  • Ability to work across complex, distributed systems and enterprise environments.

  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Personal Capabilities and Qualifications

  • Systems thinker who designs automation with long-term scale and resilience in mind.

  • Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and disciplined in execution.

  • Comfortable operating in complex, high-impact environments.

  • Strong ownership mindset with accountability for outcomes.

  • Collaborative partner who builds trust across Engineering, IT, and Operations teams.

  • Curious, adaptable, and continuously improving technical skillsets.

Strategic Support

  • Advise leadership on automation strategy, tooling decisions, and platform standardization.

  • Support enterprise transformation initiatives through intelligent automation and operational modernization.

  • Partner with Security and Compliance teams to embed controls into automated workflows.

  • Contribute to long-term platform roadmaps and infrastructure modernization efforts.

  • Enable faster delivery, reduced risk, and improved operational resilience across the enterprise.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid work environment with collaboration across global engineering and operations teams.

  • High autonomy with clear accountability for automation outcomes.

  • Regular interaction with senior technical leaders and platform owners.

  • Occasional travel for planning sessions, architecture reviews, or major initiatives.
