The Sr. Director of IT Operations leads the teams responsible for infrastructure management, service delivery, incident response, automation, reliability engineering, and technology governance. This position is ideal for a seasoned operations leader who thrives in complex environments, understands modern IT ecosystems, and can drive both strategic evolution and operational discipline.

This leader will partner closely with Security, Engineering, Product, Business Operations, and Finance to build a world-class IT foundation that scales with rapid growth, supports innovation, and meets enterprise expectations for performance and availability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead global IT Operations across infrastructure, service delivery, cloud environments, incident management, and enterprise systems.

• Develop multi-year IT operational strategies that support digital transformation, system modernization, automation, and scalability.

• Oversee ITSM processes including incident, change, problem, and configuration management.

• Drive IT reliability through monitoring, observability tools, SRE practices, and performance optimization frameworks.

• Align IT Operations with security, compliance, and risk governance requirements.

• Lead capacity planning, resource allocation, budget forecasting, and vendor management efforts.

• Strengthen cloud operations, network reliability, and application uptime through operational best practices.

• Build and implement IT policies, operational standards, and documentation for enterprise-wide adoption.

• Partner with Engineering and Product teams to support tech releases, platform stability, and operational readiness.

• Mentor and develop IT Operations managers, engineers, and technical contributors to elevate performance and capability.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in IT Operations, Infrastructure Leadership, Enterprise IT, or related technology operations roles.

• Experience overseeing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), enterprise systems, and large-scale IT service delivery.

• Strong background in ITSM, SRE, DevOps, automation, and service reliability frameworks.

• Proven ability to lead global or distributed teams within highly technical organisations.

• Strong financial management skills including budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimisation.

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced technical or management degree preferred.

• Excellent communication skills with experience engaging executive leadership and cross-functional partners.

• Deep understanding of IT security principles, compliance frameworks, and risk management.

• Partner with cybersecurity leaders to ensure resilient, compliant, and secure IT operations.

• Support enterprise-wide initiatives including cloud modernization, automation, and infrastructure optimization.

• Contribute to business continuity planning and organizational resilience strategies.

Working Conditions

• Remote-first role based in the United States with occasional travel for leadership meetings, infrastructure assessments, and team summits.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $320,000 – $388,000

• Annual executive performance bonus
